Reporting to the Senior Process Engineer, the Engineering Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, overhaul, adjustment and troubleshooting, of plant and production equipment. The Engineering Technician will also be involved in modification and continuous improvement initiatives.
 To install, modify and maintain the full range of Production equipment
 To continuously improve the operation. This includes:
Fine tuning production equipment to increase output
Reducing downtime and reducing waste
Maintain production lines at optimal performance
Maintain moulding lines at optimal performance
Work to the highest engineering standards.
 To assist in the complete validation of new and existing equipment, including acceptance trials, debugging and validation of new equipment.
 To deal/liaise with vendors, suppliers and local engineering shops.
 To analyse customer complaints and internal quality issues and draw up improvement programmes for equipment to eliminate these defects being produced.
 To assist with the training of technicians/apprentices as required.
 To install, modify and maintain the full range of moulding equipment.
 To fully participate in companywide continuous improvement initiatives, working in teams as required and utilising appropriate quality tools as applicable.
 To maintain appropriate recording and reporting systems on all engineering related matters e.g. breakdowns, maintenance etc.
 Full utilisation of all current and new IP/Processing systems e.g. SAP
 To maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping to ensure area, machines and equipment are maintained in safe and clean condition. Correct and/or report unsafe conditions and other faults.

The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of the Mechanical and Electronic Systems associated with high volume manufacturing equipment and hold a third level qualification in one of those disciplines or the National Craft Certificate together with additional specialised training and experience.
 Minimum of 5 years relevant industrial experience preferably in the medical/pharmaceutical industry and experience of injection moulding.
 The ability to apply a scientific approach to problem solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximise productivity and yields.
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
 Computer literacy would be advantageous.
 The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
