Equipment Education Specialist, Femtosecond Laser
Location Liffey Valley
AMO Ireland is continuing in its development of our EAM Shared Service Centre in Dublin. We are now recruiting for an Equipment Education Specialist position for Femtosecond Laser training in our Corneal Refractive Surgery Group. We are actively looking for people who have previous field experience working with lasers (>2 years) and/or similar experience in a training position.

The role will be based in our office in Liffey Valley, Dublin and will have responsibility for Global training initiatives in our EAM (Europe Africa & Middle East) region and will also assist the Asia Pacific region on occasions.

This is a critical role to help maintain and develop educational resources and training operations for new and existing product training.

Key duties and responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain service manuals, training materials and programs directly related to AMO equipment and interface with instructional designers to implement changes.
• Develop and maintain new coursework materials specific to existing and future products
• Schedule and conduct training course for AMO customers, field service and international distributors in the use and service of complex company products, equipment and procedures.
• Interface with internal and external customers to understand training requirements for the development of product specific technical training courses.
• Work with cross functional teams to support equipment improvements and new product introduction for the development of technical documentation.
• Work with cross functional departments to ensure that coursework materials reflect current features.
• Prepare lesson plans derived from AMO literature and external documentation
• Instruct participants in both classroom lectures and laboratory sessions
• Continually improve upon testing materials, ensuring that course material is understood
• Maintain records to ensure compliance with protocols and FDA regulations
• Assist in establishing and maintaining training centers around the globe.
• Properly maintain and upgrade training equipment and test tools that are utilized in training courses
• Assist in providing high level technical support to field service engineers for resolving unusual and highly escalated and rare customer related product issues.
Skills, Education and experience required:
• Third level qualification in Engineering, Electronics or Education
• Excellent knowledge of complex Electro-medical mechanical devices
• At least 3 years of medical device experience or complex systems
• Demonstrated technical training experience
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Self starter approach
• Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio and Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to travel within EAM and APME regions to assist with training as necessary
• Fluency in other European languages an advantage but not essential
